  • During your holidays in the Drôme, there are many attractions to discover in the vicinity of the campsite: the ideal moment to reconnect with nature and outdoor activities!

Welcome in the Diois – City of Die

Just 2km from the campsite, at an altitude of 410m, you’ll find the charming town of Die. Situated in the south-east of France in the Southern Alps (about 60km from Valence), at the foot of the Vercors limestone massif and on the banks of the Drôme river. Come and discover its cathedral, its regional market, its archaeological museum, and wander through the streets full of craft shops and local grocery shops.

Total reconnection with nature at the start of the Vercors mountains

Let yourself be carried away by the breathtaking scenery of an area rich in flora and fauna.
On the hiking programme: wild flowers, encounters with ibex and Alpine marmots…
Perhaps you’ll even catch a glimpse of the great birds that watch over our mountains: the vultures!

Local products, yes, but ORGANIC is even better!

As part of a sustainable, local approach to development, the producers of the Diois are offering you the chance to discover their environmentally-friendly products at local markets throughout the valley. Many restaurateurs will also be happy to welcome you for a moment of conviviality and help you discover the region through their “home-made” menu! A wide choice of savoury products to tantalise your taste buds: picodons, local cured meats, leg of lamb, ravioli gratin… For those with a sweet tooth: lavender honey, clairette desserts, homemade ice creams from the bakery in the centre…

Clairette : the sparkling wine of the Diois!

Take a break and refresh yourself with a sparkling tasting of our local star: Clairette! Savour its fine bubbles and sweet taste, and discover its history through the stories told by the winegrowers in one of the region’s local cellars. For beer lovers, a number of good local breweries have opened up in recent years! Enjoy them chilled with a nice savoury platter: IPA, triple, dark, blonde or amber!

    A heritage rich in history

The Vercors massif, a veritable natural fortress, was home to many maquisards during the Second World War and was a major centre of the French Resistance. Immerse yourself in this fascinating history at the Musée départemental de la Résistance in Vassieux en Vercors! A veritable Gruyère cheese, the Vercors is home to a number of exceptional caves, including the Choranche cave and the Luire cave. A great way to cool off on a hot summer’s day! You’ll also want to explore the small villages with their own character: get lost in the old streets of Chatillon-en-diois, stroll around the village of Marignac to enjoy the panoramic views over the Glandasse mountains, take the road to Valdrôme and stop to take a photo next to a field of lavender, admire the houses in the village of Pontaix perched above the bed of the river Drôme…

    Adventures and Sensations

Do you need to burn off some energy? Looking for adventure? You’ll find what you’re looking for here! The many rivers and magnificent landscapes are home to all kinds of activities: canyoning, canoeing (directly accessible from the campsite), paragliding, accrobranche, caving, horse riding, via ferrata, climbing, archery, summer biathlon… The Drôme resorts also have plenty to keep you entertained! Get your adrenalin pumping on a summer toboggan at Col de Rousset, go downhill on a “dévalkarte” at Valdrôme, share a moment with the family on an electric scooter at Lus la Jarjatte! You can find all this information here.

    The Drôme in colour!

You often see it on our postcards, its colour is soft, it has been used for centuries by the Romans to perfume baths and linen: you’ve found it! It’s LAVENDER! Some of our distilleries will be happy to share their expertise with you. You’ll learn how they make their star products: lavender essential oils, fine lavender floral water, dried lavender flowers, lavender flower sachets… Whether as a gift or a souvenir, it’s always nice to take “a piece of the holiday” home with you!
